Join us at Tooting Islamic Centre for a deeply important and empowering hands-on workshop designed to teach sisters the sacred responsibilities of preparing a deceased Muslim woman for burial — in accordance with the Qur’an and Sunnah.


This practical session, led by Umm Ali, will guide you step-by-step through the entire Janazah preparation process with clarity, care, and respect.


What You Will Learn


Participants will gain essential knowledge and confidence in the following areas:


  • Cutting the female shroud (kafan) – understanding the 5 required pieces
  • Proper method of laying out the shroud
  • Preparing the body prior to washing, ensuring the awrah remains covered at all times
  • A complete step-by-step demonstration of Ghusl (ritual washing)
  • Correct techniques for drying and transferring the body for shrouding
  • Performing the shrouding process and applying perfume
  • Safely and respectfully transferring the body to the coffin
  • Open Q&A session to address your questions and concerns
